I am not a Guide for this area, Google puts that by name because of how many reviews !....My parents hosted a campground there for about 10 years up until 2020. I loved going and being off the grid (no power, except for the use of a generator periodically) No WiFi ... We went and stayed 2 different years with them & did not hike the trails to Squaretop, but hiked around the campground (loved every minute of being there) The road in is paved partially and then slow go gravel road for most of it along the Green River. It takes about an hour off the main highway.

Incredible hike, breathtaking views, but a heck of a climb! From upper Green Lake to the top and back is about 25.6 miles, the first 7 miles is just beautiful, then you hit the climb, it is soooo steep!!! Halfway up the you hit granite Lake, I recommend setting base camp there, and then make your final ascent. If you are trying to decide what area you should ascend, I recommend the shoots towards the south end of the lake, I would not climb the face or other words towards the west side of the lake. Not a hike for you if you get altitude sickness easily. Is a hike for you if you like to challenge yourself and are willing to tackle the 5000 foot climb. When I did this hike, there was a few times where I thought I was actually going to die, not only is it incredibly steep, but you have to scale a few jagged cliffs, overall, it was an amazing experience, and the views were outstanding, you can also see the Tetons from the top

Road to get to the trailhead is rough. Great views leading up to the mountain and from on top of Squaretop. No trail from Granite lake to the summit. Steep and rough trail to granite lake. Lots of elevation gain from the river makes for a steep difficult hike. Definitely not a beginner hike.
