Visited the Gasparee Caves and it was truly a unique and memorable experience. The journey itself starts with a short boat ride, which already sets the tone for a mini adventure. The cave system is stunning, filled with impressive limestone formations, stalactites, and stalagmites that feel almost unreal. The highlight is definitely the deep blue pool at the bottom, where sunlight filters through from above, creating a magical glow. It honestly feels like stepping into another world. The tour does involve a bit of walking and a steep descent down stairs, so proper footwear is a must. It’s not difficult, but you’ll feel the climb on the way back up. Overall, it’s a great mix of adventure, nature, and scenery. Perfect for anyone looking to explore something different in Trinidad. Definitely worth experiencing at least once!

Let me tell you about my day! Today was my first time visiting Gasparee Caves. The tour was booked with CDA and our lovely captain Mr. Spider transported us from the docks of Island Property Owners Association to Gasparee Island. Firstly, the hike itself was easy. The path to the cave is well labeled and fully concrete so it is impossible to get lost. Secondly, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. I learnt that the Island rarely experience Rain and it's practically limestone. AND it's two major species are limited to Snakes and Centipedes. Thirdly, the sediments within the cave formed several silhouettes of a "vintage bedroom chamber", a "T-REX", "Michael Jackson" and a beautiful tower of "diamonds". THERE'S ALSO A LITERAL MARRIAGE ALTAR TOWER! Fourthly, the swimming area is off limits due to several safety protocols being finalized for the area. Fun fact, the shallow part of the saltwater can reach up to 27ft deep. Fifth, DON'T play fass and dip your foot in any area where water is gathering no matter how tempting it is. There are LIVE CURRENT wires running in the water, so do yourself a favour and try not to get shocked. Sixth, there's a rest area for part of the tour where you can access washrooms, showers and a "dining" area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEEING THIS PLACE YOURSELF.
