This trail offers an accessible yet invigorating route to summit Blueberry Mountain, a notable peak in the Western Maine mountain range. The trail is appreciated for its dense forest paths punctuated by rocky outcrops and scenic clearings that provide panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and forested hills. The combination of granite ledges and mixed evergreen and deciduous trees creates a distinct ecological setting, rich with seasonal wild blueberries that give the mountain its name.

Blueberry Mountain located in the White mountains on the border of New Hampshire and Maine can be reached using the White Carin to Stone House trail just off Route 113. I would rate it a moderate to a hard trail going up to the summit. You could avoid the steep descent by taking the blueberry mountain trail to Stonehouse which is much easier on your knees. Both trails passed through private property so please stay on the trail. Out and back distance is 5.1 mile with a 1300 foot elevation gain. If you’re not interested in hiking to the summit you can hike to Rattlesnake Pool a 2 mile hike with only a 200 foot elevation gain.

Great hike to the summit. Fairly steep so you get views early after the leaves have fallen. Take the Loop Trail at the top for a ledge for lunch with a wonderful view. It must be spectacular during the color season. We enjoyed a very light dusting of snow, which was beautiful. And check out the Rattlesnake Pool and Gorge side trails----worthy views.
