Prince Albert National Park, located in the heart of Saskatchewan, Canada, offers a stunning escape into the wild. Covering nearly 3,874 square kilometers, the park is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This expansive sanctuary is known for its lush forests, crystal-clear waters, and rich wildlife, including elk, black bears, and a thriving population of bison. Visitors can experience the breathtaking scenery by hiking one of the many trails or kayaking on the peaceful lakes.

One of the park's highlights is the unique mix of ecosystems, from aspen parkland to the boreal forest. What the heck Saskatchewan?! This place is so cool!! I have been lucky enough to trek up here a few times this year. Cross country skiing in the area is fabulous, but the best part is the canoeing/kayaking in summer. Endless adventures on the lakes in the park. Excellent and well maintained back country camping. The wildlife I've encountered are otters, bears, and elk. Wear a bug suit in the summer 😬.

Beautiful Park. Well maintained.Well laid out. Good signage. Our site in Red Deer was large and private. 2 juvenile male elk joined us in our campsite one evening and stayed with us for almost an hour. We purchased a fire permit for our 4 night stay and the wood supplied by the park was dry and plentiful. Lots of walking trails. Lovely beach. Nice beach areas for dogs to enjoy too! Visitor centre and heritage centre were informative. The charming townsite was lovely. Restaurants and shops and a huge beach area. The whole park was clearly designed for the enjoyment of its visitors.
