According to legend, in ancient times, in a kingdom located at the foot of Mount Argapura, there lived a very wise king named Raja Anggoro. King Anggoro had a beautiful daughter named Roro Ayu. Roro Ayu is known for her extraordinary beauty, and many young men from surrounding kingdoms are interested in proposing to her. However, Roro Ayu is not interested in anyone, because her heart is set on a young man named Jaka Sura, a prince from a distant kingdom. Jaka Sura is a prince who is known as a brave and intelligent young man. However, despite having everything, Jaka Sura does not have a position as high as Raja Anggoro, which becomes an obstacle for his relationship with Roro Ayu. These two couples fell in love, but because of differences in status and position, they couldn't just get married. Roro Ayu's father, Raja Anggoro, does not agree with his daughter marrying Jaka Sura, who he considers not worthy. However, Roro Ayu and Jaka Sura still try to maintain their love. They often met in a very beautiful place at the foot of Mount Argapura, where they could talk and chat without any disturbance. It was there that they promised to always be loyal, even though they had to face various obstacles. However, their love was ultimately tested by fate. One day, King Anggoro found out about this relationship and was very angry. He ordered the two of them to be separated, and Jaka Sura was thrown away from the kingdom. Roro Ayu, who was very sad because she had to be separated from her lover, decided to flee. He went to Mount Argapura, the place where he first met Jaka Sura. There, Roro Ayu prayed with great hope that she would be able to meet Jaka Sura again. Not long afterward, Mount Argapura suddenly erupted violently, emitting smoke and large, burning rocks. From the eruption, a large mountain emerged with a towering peak, which local people believed was a symbol of Roro Ayu's sacrifice and love. This legend states that Mount Argapura was the last place that witnessed their hopes and love not coming true. Since then, Mount Argapura has become a symbol of a love story that was hindered by fate, but is still remembered by subsequent generations. Local people believe that the mountain is a sacred place and full of magical energy. Mount Argapura is now a beautiful place to visit, and the views offered in the area around this mountain remind people of legendary stories full of sacrifice and hope. Tiring but amazing. Good exercise for those who need it. Beautiful scenery and culture. I wish i have the time and money to visit this place again.
