It might cost a bit, but it is definitely worth it! There are lots of trails, some of which are better kept than others, but if you are up for a hike, it is a lovely spot. Just take your time and enjoy the scenery.

It's just a few minutes' walk to the registration area for climbing Mount Kinabalu, so I recommend it. The only minor issue was the low water pressure in the showers; otherwise, I had no complaints.
