Hike was awesome but make sure to take the NF84 and not 85. Avoid 85 at all costs - it can cause serious damage to your vehicle and can leave you stranded- middle of nowhere without internet, as of June 2026 that is not a drive anyone should take. Google maps routed us through 85 and we would have had serious damages had we not turned back the right time.

Insane view and fantastic sunset spot, 100% recommend if you’re in the Rainier area. Great drone spot as well.

Had an incredible time here and would recommend anyone check it out who is able. The road getting there is pretty rough with potholes, but going carefully makes it doable. The lot up top is a bit buggy, but otherwise it’s a pretty great spot!

The trail is CLOSED from July 7 - September 15, 2025 while volunteers repair the foundation and restore the lookout structure. Closure is per order of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and includes the entire trail.
