Dettifoss: Iceland's Majestic Waterfall

Dettifoss is the largest waterfall in Europe. It is different from other waterfalls in Iceland. It's a different dimension It is 44m high, 100m wide and weighs 420 tons per second. A huge waterfall pours down Victoria, Niagana, and Iguazu cannot be compared, but... The gray color mixed with glacial meltwater and the barren sand of the plateau evokes fear. Originating from far away Vatnajökull It flows all the way here and creates a huge waterfall. The amount of water is so great that the water fog is so great that it can be seen from far away. If you go inside Dettifoss, you will find Selfoss. Usually, while Dettiphos is masculine, Selfos is feminine. Selfoss is only 12m, but its width is amazing. Numerous waterfalls fall at once in a horseshoe-shaped canyon. The surrounding area is always quiet, making you feel like you are in another world. It was raining that day and the wind was blowing, so I wore a raincoat. It's been over 10 years since I went, but it was a memorable Iceland.

Dettifoss is without a doubt the most beautiful and powerful waterfall in Iceland, the force of the water and the noise it releases is frightening, compared to the other 'foss' on the island it has no comparison! The pedestrian path that leads to the rapid is really very bumpy, despite having good trekking equipment it was really difficult to proceed in complete safety, my advice is to bring crampons, especially during the winter months when the stretch is frozen! The summer months are certainly the best for seeing the waterfall from multiple points, both above and below, the snow and ice makes it less immensely vast, each season gives and takes away something from the landscape... the choice is yours!
