Waterfall Wonder: Cascada Limón's Natural Charm

We went there with 4 adults and 2 children (5 years old and 2 years old). The smallest was in the baby carrier. The trail is very passable, we did everything on foot. Horses are rented at the start of the ride but honestly it is for lazy people. The hardest part is the big staircase to go down to the waterfall. Round trip walking leisurely we must have taken 2 hours (with a good break at the waterfall) PS: the water is very cold.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. They sell it as a super experience and from the moment you enter you see pure animal suffering, a lot of malnutrition and abuse. VERY dangerous roads with stones that horses cannot tread safely. My boyfriend fell off his horse because they didn't secure the saddle, in addition to others who fell on the winding roads. I do not recommend financing this operation for the poor horses who have them without water, they hit them with stones and it is clear that they are not prepared for that hard work, if I had known what it was about I would not have hired the tour. I hope they close this shady business of exploitation with the poor little animals that do not have the strength to walk on those roads all day with tourists on them. Not to mention that I had a panic attack and wanted to walk up because I felt sorry for the animal's condition, to which they did NOT agree. SHAME.

Epic hike. We loved it!!! There was a lot of mud, it is advisable to wear sneakers to get wet and dirty. Don't be confused by those who are on the route offering parking. Put PARKING EL LIMÓN on your GPS and you will arrive directly at the EL CAFÉ entrance. If you like to walk you don't need a guide, you can do it alone calmly. I do not recommend the horse, it seemed unsafe and they also mistreat them. DO NOT ENCOURAGE ANIMAL ABUSE. Much better to walk the adventure is better. If you don't like walking DON'T GO! Once you arrive at the parking lot, they charge you 200 pesos to leave the car and 50 pesos per person for the park ranger. When you start walking you are going to cross a river (yes, cross it by walking, the adventure begins by getting wet), you have to turn to the right (in the opposite direction to how the river water flows, you turn), then you realize how the path continues. Approximately two hour walk, but the joy is worth it. There are climbs, stones and mud, a lot, I repeat USE WET SHOES. I saw a girl wearing flip flops 🩴 and she was having a hard time. I recommend 100% if you have an adventurous spirit, the vegetation is incredible and the waterfall is amazing. Getting into the hull is epic. Feeling all that energy is truly magical!!!! If you are going to go into the waterfall I recommend that you do it with sneakers, it is full of stones.
