Kicker Rock is undoubtedly one of the most famous diving and snorkeling spots in the Galapagos Islands. The striking rock formations rise spectacularly from the sea and are impressive even from afar. The boat trip alone makes it clear why this place is included in almost every tour around San Cristóbal. Underwater, Kicker Rock offers a fascinating array of marine life. We were able to observe numerous sea turtles, various schools of fish, rays, and many other marine creatures. With a bit of luck, you might even spot larger animals. The backdrop of the steep rock walls adds to the unique atmosphere and makes diving or snorkeling an unforgettable experience. However, it's worth noting that Kicker Rock has become very popular. During our visit, several boats were there simultaneously, resulting in a large number of people in the water. This detracts somewhat from the exclusivity and the feeling of being in the heart of untouched nature. Furthermore, expectations are extremely high due to the numerous reports and photos published beforehand. While the landscape and wildlife are undoubtedly impressive, we personally remembered other places in the Galápagos Islands as being at least as exciting, or even more fascinating. Nevertheless, Kicker Rock remains a must-see for divers and snorkelers on San Cristóbal. The combination of the imposing rocks and the diverse underwater world is unique. In conclusion: Breathtaking rock formations, fantastic wildlife viewing, and a classic Galápagos experience. The high number of visitors prevents us from awarding it five stars, but Kicker Rock remains a highly recommended excursion and one of the island's most famous natural sites.
