Great spot for the family, or just solo camping. There's a lot of hiking trails, mostly easy to intermediate levels of difficulty. Most spots are spacious. Bathrooms are clean and flush with kohler amenities. I come here often and always have a great experience.

Never coming back! I’ve been camping for 25 years + and I’ve never had so many problems. I will start by giving where it’s due. We checked in day one and our cabin was completely run down. Wood on deck broken. Numerous red ant hills surrounded the campsite and fire pit area so we couldn’t sit around the campfire. Squirrel holes EVERYWHERE and don’t worry we are going to talk more about squirrels. The cabin was a hot box. Only one wall with window and no cross breeze and this particular site was not shaded at all. So the cabin was extremely hot. I Called state and local numbers to try and move to a different cabin. The state reservation line could see me but couldn’t do anything about transferring my reservation. I could not reach the local number and went to the campsite hosts and could not get anyone. Finally a state ranger drove through the park and I explained our situation. Don’t worry a positive is coming. While ranger was less compassionate about my concerns haha he said he could help I. The morning but not before then. We slept in the back of our Highlander that night. A ranger came by that morning and had already switched our reservations to the cabin we requested I was so excited!! We packed up everything and loved right away. Now we get to the fun stuff. But I’ll keep it short. Th squirrels wreaked havoc on everything over the next several days. They got into everything. We had all our stuff locked up tight so we coins t figure out how they were getting to it. We found t eat in peace. They are so aggressive they jump up on the bbq pit while your cooking and the table while you’re eating. Even when we weren’t eating we couldn’t sit or relax in peace at the campsite because they are all over crawling everywhere. They are creative and relentless. Then it happened. I hear a noise in our very secure cabin about 4 am one morning. Where my eyes deceiving me? I saw a squirrel. But was it inside the cabin? How could that be?? YESSSSS!! He was INSIDE the locker up tight as possible cabin. He chewed a hole in the window screen and going through all our stuff. Food. Clothes. Books. Everything. This whole trip has been clouded by this nuisance. I can’t imagine how much harder it would have been to be tent camping which we normally do. I’ve called the local number and gone by the check in several times a day to find no one. I’ve visited the campsite host. One empty. One no answer. Ever. This has been the worst trip ever. I’ve stayed in bear country easier than this. After finding the squirrel in our cabin I told my husband I wanted to check early. He said let’s finish strong. Haha. So I sit here at the campsite surrounded by squirrels watching my stuff like a hawk as I write this. I plan on contacting the park after returning home to discuss my options further. Unfortunately we’ll never come back here. UPDATE: Interestingly.... the squirrels almost disappeared Saturday since the park became full of people and dogs. We were packing up Saturday morning and only saw a few squirrels. Unfortunately our visit had already been train wrecked by these critters. Also I wanted to point out that the restrooms were somewhat clean. They don't clean the spider webs and there are tons of spiders. But if you get past that, then you are good. The lake was fun for a day, no swimming, which we knew. Caught some fish and ate those for dinner Friday night. We salvaged our trip and made the best of it but still not going back :)
