Let me say I want to separate this review into what Skidaway park -could- be (when run optimally) and what it is now. We arrived when the rare snow storm hit Savannah, we were tent camping and neither the large picnic table, fire circle, nor our pad was salted or had snow removed. The camp was only about 1/10 occupied so it shouldn't have been due to lack of staff.. Next, the visitors center has what is a museum and gathering area combined to one room. Last time, there were tables in the gathering room (those are gone) there are also floor outlets that were available to charge your laptop (those were now securely shut and capped off) There is a wooden pamphlet display that has 15 or so sections (all of which were empty near the visitors center front door) I feel like all of this culminates into a managerial fail of the whole park. I have been here before and this park is a beacon of possibilities. I hope for improvement. -J

Great amenity blocks. Good walking. Lovely forest to walk in the the twoish trails. Saw lots of birds, alligators, and deer. Parking for RVs is dirt and easy to level on. See the sloth inside!

Absolutely gorgeous and well maintained state park. The only thing that caught me off guard was that parking passes $5/day is in addition to camping fee. Prices were a little steep for tent camping and there are no non-electric sites. Staff and campgrpund hosts were super friendly. Highly recommend!!!

Skidaway Island Park is a great place to visit if you want to do some hiking. We went on a couple trails they weren't super long I think we covered little over 2 mi. Very easy to navigate very well marked. I love meandering through the Georgia woods with its big trees and little swamps. It also took us alongside the marsh which was really nice I did drive up to the visitor center which was quite impressive I've never seen a visitor center so big and so filled with really nice items I was going to talk about my park pass but the lady was quite busy. So I never did get to talk to the customer service lady But it really looks like a great campground also. I liked that it was spread out and looked pretty private very quiet. I'd love to stay here overnight with my camper van or even for a week The great place really Stop and take a look if you want a place to hike that's easy or even bite that looks like people could bike on some of the trails too again not a lot of mileage what a great place for short hikes
