Super nice hiking! Slightly rugged, well marked trails but some easy rock climbing. We saw a large wedding party with old folks in church clothes going up for a photoshoot, so it's not too difficult. However, plenty of people (mostly younger than me) go off trail and scramble up the rocks to achieve higher elevations. Our 13 year old grandson was out of sight in minutes with his mom following . Some say there's an energy force emanating from the rocks. You'll see people finding flat places to spread a blanket and absorb that energy. We also encountered Navajos selling jewelry at super reasonable prices. We went February 2025 and was not crowded on the mound, but parking was limited. There's a larger overflow lot nearby. Bathroom was the latrine type. No other conveniences. My pictures don't do this place justice. There's some really excellent fun off-trail hiking for the adventurous, or easy trail hiking. Very scenic!

I’ve been to Lake Tahoe. I’ve seen Lake Michigan. I’ve been to Point Lobos Natural Preserve and I’ve seen the Rockies and Sierra Nevadas and something about this place and the solitude and beauty of it has me rethinking what’s the nicest place I’ve had the privilege to visit. Worth coming here just bring extra water especially if you come with kids.
