The Hangover Trail is a 6.8-mile loop located in the Munds Mountain Wilderness, just a short distance from Sedona. It takes its name from the distinctive rock formations that "hang over" sections of the trail, creating a one-of-a-kind riding experience. Riders can expect steep climbs, tight turns, and jaw-dropping exposure points, making it a true test of both physical strength and technical ability.

The trail offers incredible panoramic views, including stunning sights of the Cow Pies rock formations, Schnebly Hill, and the towering Cathedral Rock. Its crowning glory is the ridgeline section, where riders can soak in a 360-degree view of Sedona's vast red rock landscape.

The trail includes slick rock, switchbacks, and sheer drops, requiring exceptional bike-handling skills. Trail markers and cairns help riders navigate through its challenging sections, but it is recommended to scout particularly technical segments on foot before proceeding.

Sedona’s dry climate and unique geological features make it one of the world’s top destinations for mountain biking. It’s part of Sedona’s extensive bike trail network, boasting over 250 miles of interconnected paths ranging from beginner to expert levels.

Ride early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid extreme heat. Cooler months like March-April and October-November are ideal.

From Sedona, take Schnebly Hill Road for about 2 miles. Access the trail from the Munds Wagon Trail parking lot.
