Very pretty stop in the mountains of highway 89A! The river was closed due to a recent fire with the run-off, but the easy walking trail was completely worth the visit! Gorgeous views and great history of an old apple orchard high in the hills!

Normally it's awesome! However Labor Day weekend we drove the hour and a half to slide rock and it was open for hiking only no access to the creek or water so that was a big let down. And while I did Google whether or not it was open and it was I guess I could have gone to the Parks and Rec site and maybe it would have shown that there was no access to the creek I'm not sure so I'm not going to bash them over that cuz I probably didn't look into it well enough

Bad timing when we went w our family, the slide rock water access was closed due to the wildfires. Think there pretty much closed off for the season is what we were told. Just a few park staff and picnic tables that were active. Very nice scenery. I'd try and go again during summer time.

Did not get to go. ***** Swimming area is closed until October 1, 2026.**** Only the picnic area and trail are open. Rock slides and swimming closed due to forest fire. Then heavy rain washing the ash from the fire into the water. Was told this by the ranger at the entrance. Did not see that listed on any website before we drove there.

The slides themselves are somewhat shorter than one would expect but it's still a very cool place worth exploring! You can go up or down stream to find other really fun spots also!
