We loved this hike! It was very kid-friendly and had plenty of interesting features along the way. One of the highlights was crossing the creek on a log, and the scenery throughout the hike was beautiful. The trail was fun and engaging without feeling overly difficult for the kids. Met multiple families with kids various ages. The parking area could definitely be larger or better organized, as it seems to be a very popular trailhead. The bathroom was available and met expectations. One issue we encountered was that several sections of the trail forked without clear signs or trail markers. We had to backtrack a few times to figure out which path was the correct one. Better signage at these intersections would make the hike much easier to navigate. The road to the trailhead is another challenge. It is very bumpy, with lots of potholes, and requires careful driving. Some sections are barely wide enough for one vehicle, so meeting oncoming traffic can be difficult. It took us more than 40 minutes to drive from the main road to the trailhead. Despite those issues, we really enjoyed the hike. Definitely recommend it, and we would come back again!

May 10, 2026 - Great Springtime hike! Be warned that the trail is currently a scramble type hike. The first half of the hike was relatively un obstructed but he second half is heavily obstructed with tree-fall.

Beautiful location however it seems the road and trail has not been maintained for the season! I made it to the lake but after lots of scrambling and ducking through trees! Still a fair amount of snow once you hit the fork!
