Great place with a great view

If you want a five star resort experience, don’t come here as there are plenty of places which are better. Probably a better service standard as well. 1. Service (bad and weird) - my husband and I arrived at check in. It was busy, already takes 30 mins to queue and to get to a reception staff to check us in. When checking in, receptionist tells us that our room is only ready in an hours time when we were promised it should be ready by 3pm. We had to ask for a compensation for the inconvenience. She reluctantly gave us a “coffee and tea” voucher to compensate for the inconvenience. Did not apologise at first knowing it’s their fault for the delay, that the room should have been ready by check in time. The majority of the time we were there, staff don’t really greet you at the door, they would just avoid eye contact and not smile at you. At one point, we were even ignored when we greeted them good morning. Very strange. Get to breakfast, every morning, each staff will tell you an hour before closing time what time breakfast closes. I’ve been told at least 3 times by 3 different staff this each morning. If you are trying to have a relaxing breakfast, forget it. Gobble your food up and go because you are on a time crunch apparently. 2. Scenery and look of the hotel - very fancy looking hotel. Our room has a nice pool view. The beach is beautiful. That’s about it. 3. Facility (not a retreat, more of a kids resort)- definitely a kids and family resort and not a place for relaxing if you are on your honeymoon or if you want a restful retreat. Lots of kids. There is only one pool and it’s always busy kids at all hours of the day and life guards constantly whistling what felt like every 2 seconds. Wouldn’t recommend if you want a peaceful five star resort experience. 4. Beach - not going to sugarcoat it the lifeguards are a pain and rude (they do yell at guests). A large portion of the beach is closed off for other reasons (they give so many excuses to my husband on why the close it off, we still don’t know the real reason, aside from them saying it’s per their superiors instructions) and you are forced to stay with all the screaming kids. A shame for such a nice beachfront. 5. Location and convenience - far off from most things. They are at least an hour away by car from the main city and most attractions. For such a distance you would think that you have a better retreat experience but unfortunately we didn’t. It was just a kids park. 6. Nothing is complimentary - for a five star resort, you would expect that the sun beds are all free considering you have already paid a premium compared to most places. The answer is no, you’ll have to pay for some of the sun beds even when it’s crowded. The free ones always run out and it’s always crowded mind you. TBH left a bad taste in my mouth because of how extortionate that is. Overall, your premium payment is only for the view and the singing entertainment at 8pm. That’s all there is. Not worth it, there are so many other places you can go to for a five star resort experience that would be worth the value. What a shame because it’s a beautiful place. Still don’t understand how anyone can rate this place five star. :/

Location is lovely but I think they need seriously work on their service. If they want to be considered a 5 star resort you can't just rely on a good view. The welcome when you first walk in is brief and they vaguely guide you to reception. Where we had to wait 2 hours for our room to which only when we asked for a drink voucher did they provide one (not happily might I add). They had way too many guests to check in at once. Aside from that the interactions were infrequent and unfriendly. Tried to say goodnight to a staff member on the way back to the room. Got ignored. Tried to smile at cleaners. Got ignored. Went to one of their restaurant/bars, this closed at 9pm on a friday night with no other options. On exit a similar story. Had to wait a while to get served (again very busy lobby). Gave them the key and we left. No 'hope you had a nice stay', no 'thanky ou for coming'. Just give us the key, do you owe us any money from the room and bye. Maybe its different for Koreans as the language barrier for us was a struggle but for an expensive 5 star hotel, you expect better
