hard as hell after hiking all week. why did no one mention it’s rock stairs/climbing at the beginning? i was fine with an incline but the rocks/steps were killer on my knees. i only made it to marmot meadows viewpoint, but my boyfriend made it to top of cliffs. beautiful but tough

This was a wonderful 7 hour hike that kicked our butts. Was totally worth it, however, it was a tougher 9 miles than we expected. My brother called it “humbling“ and he is right. Was hoping to walk on the icefield but it was too far away from the end of the trail so we decided not to continue. We did walk on plenty of snow though. What amazing views this trail offers. Be sure to take lots of water, we packed over a liter each and it wasn’t really enough.
