About This Adventure Destination

Bukit Brown Cemetery, located in the bustling city of Singapore, is a unique and captivating outdoor area rich with history and cultural heritage. Spanning over 200 hectares, it’s one of the largest Chinese cemeteries outside of China and a significant green space in the region. This destination stands out for its enchanting blend of nature and history, offering a rare glimpse into Singapore’s past. As you wander through the cemetery, you'll find intricate tombstones and sculptures that highlight the artistry and craftsmanship of the past centuries.

The cemetery is enveloped by lush greenery, making it not just a spiritual retreat but also a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers. The rich biodiversity harbors unique flora and fauna, offering a mini escape from city life. Established in the early 20th century, the cemetery has witnessed the ebb and flow of Singapore’s history, reflecting the cultural diversity and legacy of the island city-state.

Beyond its historical significance, Bukit Brown is a site of natural beauty with gentle hills and winding paths through verdant landscapes. Visitors can experience peaceful walks amidst the towering tombstones and serene surroundings. While the cemetery serves as a poignant reminder of Singapore’s heritage, its tranquil environment offers a perfect backdrop for reflection and recreation. This harmonious blend of history and nature certainly makes Bukit Brown Cemetery a standout destination in Singapore.

3.5 hours trekking in a cemetery - somehow found ourselves inadvertently walking around in circles. We made an attempt to bulldoze our way through, which half succeeded. It was a good test though.
