In summer, the canyon attracts many tourists. On sunny days, the marble walls seem to shine, reflected in the clear water. However, if you prefer privacy, choose weekdays or early mornings. What to do? 1. Active entertainment. For adrenaline lovers, there is an exciting zipline (watch the video of how I sent my beloved mother-in-law there) and a bungee jump (but I love my mother-in-law, so this fear is for another mother-in-law). This is the perfect way to view the canyon from above while flying high above it. But be aware that these attractions have weight restrictions, so you may need to reconsider your eating habits before you go! 2. Retro train. The best way to get to Ruskeala is by riding a retro train. Children especially will be delighted! Traveling by train in the spirit of the past immerses you in the romance of antiquity and adds a sense of celebration. It is better to book tickets in advance to have time to plan the perfect day. 3. Immersion in nature. Large trout live in the canyon, and watching their smooth movements in clear water is a special pleasure. True, fishing is prohibited here, so you’ll have to make do with just contemplation. But in the neighboring lake, if you’re lucky, you can catch crayfish directly with your hands - an interesting experience for those who want to feel a connection with nature. 4. Photos and walks. The canyon is a place where every detail begs to be captured by the camera lens. Marble walls, reflections in the water, suspension bridges and views from different viewing platforms will give you impressive shots. And don’t forget to share moments of joy: smile, hug, kiss! Ruskeala is just for this! Tips for tourists Be careful. Never walk outside of hiking trails or fences—the canyon can be dangerous. Falling into a gorge can have serious consequences, and rescuers will not be able to reach you right away. Bring comfortable shoes. Roads and paths can be slippery, especially in winter. Plan your day in advance. It gets crowded in summer, so book your excursions and tickets in advance. Finally Ruskeala is a place that does not leave you indifferent.
