I would say that the trail is a moderate hike, but don’t let that fool you; it’s a challenging adventure that rewards your perseverance with views that are nothing short of spectacular. My journey to the top remains one of my fondest memories of Saint Lucia. The hike typically takes around two hours up and another two hours down, depending on your pace and fitness level. Good grippy shoes are a must; while I managed in running shoes, we colleagues did slip a few times along the way. The shaded trail provided relief from the tropical heat, and the railings on the steeper sections offered much-needed support, particularly on the descent. Reaching the summit was exhilarating, and the panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the neighboring Petit Piton were worth every drop of sweat. The descent, while less physically demanding, required careful navigation to avoid slips and falls, making the railings invaluable.
