The Sawtooth National Forest holds some stunning and jaw-dropping scenery. This lake among 1000 others is well worth your effort and time to see and explore. Not all trails are for everyone. Know your ability and the terrain before you go. It's a very unforgiving place if you get into a situation and need help. The forces that it took to create these landscapes were astronomical. From the crags of the alpine peaks and forests to the valley floor, you will have plenty to do and see. Just remember, this area is home to some amazing wildlife from bear, moose, mountain lions, and elk to the wolves, bobcats, and squirrels that you really need to be aware of your surroundings. Give them their space and don't approach them. You may think you could outrun them, but I guarantee you can't. Be safe and keep all food in sealed containers, carry bear spray just in case you need it, and pack out what you pack in. As always, leave no trace, leave it better than you found it, and enjoy 😉.
