I recommend going to the parking lot directly to the lake, where you can buy a boat ticket. The parking lot is open to both caravans and cars. We slept overnight in a caravan near the “museum”, and from there we walked to the lake and then to the glacier. Needless. I couldn’t find anywhere that there was parking right by the lake.

Incredibly beautiful glacier, idyllic nature and a very peaceful atmosphere 🥹⛰️💛 Unfortunately, large parts of the glacier have melted, which is very sad to see. However, the spectacular view makes up for this. The area offers nice and pleasant hiking opportunities, perfect for a quiet nature experience. It is recommended to use good, waterproof hiking shoes, as the terrain can be wet and a bit demanding in some places due to the rocks. If you choose to drive all the way to the area, you must be aware of a toll fee of 100 NOK. Nevertheless, it is recommended to drive in, since the walk can be quite long.
