We spent our 1st Time @ LHI in March 2024 & have planned another holiday with our whole families there this March, 2025. We loved every aspect of the Island & did everything in a week. Loved the people, food at all the restaurants, scenery, walks & great accomodation. Loved it all.

Zealandia Island. A fishing boat discovered the island in 1778. 1918 Invasion of rats that arrived hidden in boats... state reward for dead rat. In 1927 the United States brought Buos and the plague was reduced. Until 2018 they used poisoned baits. End of the plague.

One oddity about Lord Howe Island. It is the only place in the world that observes Daylight Saving Time and changes its time by 30 minutes rather than the usual 60 minutes.
