Snowbird Backcountry Area is a large and very remote area of Nantahala National Forest. The main trailhead is at the Junction at the end of the forest road. Big Snowbird Trail starts from here and leads through the area, connecting to most of the other trails and providing access to the waterfalls. Its about 13 miles to get all four. Although the hikes are long, the trail follows an old logging grade and is easy to follow and not too overgrown even in summer. I love hiking back here, its remote and beautiful.
