Beautiful area. Can be a little tricky to actually find the falls and where to park. You can walk from the state park area where the lake is, but the sign showed 2 miles or so on a trail. There is a very small parking lot but it is for handicap parking only. The sign directing you there does not mention that. From there it’s about 5 minutes to the falls. I would call ahead to get information.

Apr 2025. Escape from the DC concrete jungle here. Choose the 1 mile difficult climb up and down route that takes 30 minutes. Or the half mile stroll in the park route that takes 10 minutes. Two boardwalks take you out. Climbing up and down the rocks next to the falls is NOT authorized.
