Alb Expeditions Hiking and Cycling Tours in Tirana, Albania

Highly recommended if you want an amazing tour in Albania.

My wife and I (and about 20 new great friends!) did the 9 night UNESCO Sites of Albania tour at the end of September 2024, with Albania Expeditions. The tour was rated a "must do" by several guys we met on another tour. We took their advice: the tour did not disappoint. Amazing scenery and history, great roads, wonderful food, nice hotels in interesting places, and a wonderful guide, Arjan, and support crew, Enes. The weather was fabulous, despite some pretty disturbing forecasts prior to the trip. We chose the e-bike option, although many chose regular bikes, and were happy with their choice. They managed the climbs, especially that one on the list day.... The e-bikes were top quality, and battery life was not a concern. Arjan and Enes would monitor the batteries and charge them as needed, even at breaks during the day. Albania is a very interesting country. We learned a lot, mainly thanks to our guide, Arjan. He is passionate about his country with a sense of humor as well. He was also very organized, keeping things moving smoothly. Enes was an important part of the team. He knows his job and was interesting to talk too as well. My confession: We had hoped to have our son and daughter in law join us on this tour but that didn't work out. My plan was to maybe do this again with them in the future on our own. We'll save all kinds of money, right? Well, after doing the tour with this excellent crew, having everything planned and organized for us, etc etc, I think I would just book with them again. The cost is very reasonable. You meet so many wonderful people, And these guys really look after you. Note: We flew from Canada so we chose to spend 3 nights in Tirana prior to the tour. Definitely do this if you have the time. Lots to see and do and a chance to adjust to the time zone. Reasonable prices as well. And, after the tour we hiked from Valbone to Theth. (One day of hiking but 3-5 days including shuttles, a ferry etc) Also a great side trip. Check it out.

It's definitely an incredible hiking tour! An unforgettable hiking tour in Southern Albania, where charming coastal villages, stunning mountains, sea views, and exceptional architecture meet. Amazing and welcoming people, great nature and a fantastic sea. We visited Gjirokaster a UNESCO site, coastal mountains, and the beautiful Ionian Coast. The tour leader was exceptional and ensured everything ran smoothly. This tour was top-notch, organized, comfortable accommodations, a thoughtfully crafted itinerary, and delicious food. The journey was filled with breathtaking landscapes, great people, sea swims, and great service. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an extraordinary adventure.
