Majestic Arches & Rugged Beauty at Cassidy Arch

It was incredibly difficult. There was a lot of uphill and downhill walking, and many parts of the trail were unclear, so I got lost several times. The distance is 1.5 miles. It took about an hour each way. It gets very dry, so you should bring plenty of water. The arch was beautiful. To get to the parking lot, you have to take an unpaved road, which is a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when passing oncoming cars.

One of our favorite hikes in Capitol Reef National Park! The trail offers fantastic views almost the entire way, and reaching Cassidy Arch is an unforgettable experience. What makes this hike so special is that you can actually walk across the arch. Standing on top of it with the canyon stretching out below is something we'll never forget. The hike is moderate rather than difficult, but don't underestimate the heat. There's very little shade, so start early and bring plenty of water. If you're looking for one hike beyond Hickman Bridge, we'd highly recommend Cassidy Arch. It combines great scenery, interesting history, and a unique experience you won't find at many other arches in Utah.

This is a fun hike to a cool place. It's one of the few arches and natural bridges where people are allowed to walk across the Arch. I'm not sure why they've deemed it an arch, because it has a flat top and looks much more like natural bridges! 🤔 Kinda like how Rainbow Bridge is actually more similar to an arch. 😄

It was a great hike from Grand wash trailhead but view of the arch itself was disappointing however the views from the split up to the arch was amazing.
