Coastal Beauty at Sue-meg State Park

Most epic camping trip if my life. Wife and I spent our 5 year anniversary camping here. Unfortunately experience!

Park cops here are to excited to get handed a badge and a gun & will look for every little thing to cite and fine you money for, officer “everette” is a clown. GO CAMP ELSEWHERE

1 star if youre in an RV or have dogs and are not camping. This park is neither dog friendly nor RV / trailer friendly if you're not in the campground. You can only park by the entrance where the visitor center is, which by the way, is closed at this point in time, then you have to walk everywhere else. Ranger came up and told us to leave a completely, 100% empty parking lot and park our smaller RV at the visitor center and walk back to the different points. It was ridiculous. No one was in the parking lot (or most the parking lots), and yet, we had to leave and park at the visitor center and walk everywhere. Then you cannot take your dogs because they're not allowed on the trails. You would think when you come in the entrance and pay that they would tell you that, but, No, they wait till you find the spot you want to go to, park, get out, and then they come tell you you have to pack everything back up and go back to the visor center area and park there and then walk to the different areas in the park. Taking people's money at the entrance is a simple job. Surely they could add that to their list of responsibilities. Just my humble suggestion.

Sue Meg State Park lies off the coast of California it is about 10 minutes from Trinidad. My experience was the best.The staff is really nice and the camphost Bud and Yolnda are really nice actually all of them are really nice. The campsite are nice and clean and will maintain.Agate beach is really cool beach nice creek for the kids to play in and there is sand to play in also. For the adults the hunt for agate is really fun. The tide pool are also really fun. Palmors point trail is closed but you get access still on Agate Beach or Wedding Rock.The best spot to whach the sunset is Palmors point and to see the seal 🦭. Just last year the dump station open back up.Over all I would recommend this State Park to anyone who would want to get out of the house.

Unbelievably beautiful. Love that the indigenous heritage has been recognized and retained - made the place all the more special. Stunning beaches. Just sad I could not take my dog on the trails, and wonder why?
