A great hike, moderately challenging. The trail is well-marked, so you don't need a guide. Enjoy the natural beauty of the place. Rain and mud, but the experience was amazing! 😅

There is ample parking available at an approximate cost of 3,000 colones for an average-sized car. A poncho is essential because it almost always rains or is very humid. Appropriate footwear is recommended because some parts of the trail are quite challenging. The water's coloring phenomenon is a fascinating sight. It's a very popular spot, so it's difficult to find a secluded spot to enjoy a walk through the forest. The 4-star rating is due to the noticeable deterioration of the steps that once provided access to the viewpoint at the base of the waterfall.

⭐ An unforgettable experience with Miguel, an exceptional guide We arrived at Tenorio Volcano National Park wondering whether to hire another guide, as the price is high and we'd had previous experiences. But finding Miguel at the entrance was a stroke of luck. From the very first moment, he inspired complete confidence, and we decided to go for it. He explained that we could choose between a 90-minute tour or extend it to three hours, all for the same price. Without a doubt, Miguel proved to be not only a wonderful person but also a top-notch professional: he showed us all kinds of plants, animals, and details that we would never have noticed on our own. His dedication to finding each species and his passion for nature were evident at every moment. At the end, he had a wonderful gesture, inviting us to try pineapple and passion fruit at the entrance shop, where he also explained the typical fruits of the area. It's clear that he's a beloved figure in the park and one of those people who is truly worth meeting. If you visit the park, don't hesitate to contact him beforehand. He is a true nature and animal lover. He has our sincere gratitude and recommendation.
