The normal climbing route for New Zealand's Mt Aspiring (altitude 3,033m) starts from the Raspberry Creek parking lot, which is the access point from Wanaka, and heads for the Northwest Ridge via Aspiring Hut. Raspberry Creek Mountain is a flat trail from the parking area along the Matuki River to Aspiring Hut. We spend the night in and around the hut, then move on to the glacial area and then to the high-altitude Colin Todd Hut as our base.
