Good destination for both summer and winter. About 5k a loop. Family friendly with medium intensity level. The view is nice but a bit obstructed. You can go on for another 1.5k to the eagle bluff for a better view.

There are two peaks of 1217m and 1224m respectively! To be honest, the scenery was not very beautiful, but when I was resting and eating on the mountain peak, suddenly some birds flew into my hand and stole my nuts! Very interesting 😅

The way to the top of black mountail was a little bit off trail. No sign at all. and it was so cloudy that day. Nothing to see at all. So it’s not worth it. On my way there, I saw no other people at all. Only me there. And there was no sign showing that it’s the top of black mountain. So i’d rather stay in cabin lake instead of coming up if I knew it before. The rock in photos is the top of this moutain.

Still with snow but you can still hike up the black mountains... but seems july would be a nicer period for hiking. The lakes are great. Maybe it should be named as white mountains. It is not very spectacular at the summit.
