Majestic Views of Sugar Loaf Bluff, Winona

Very cool and very scenic. A must if you’re in the Winona area. Don’t be a lazy ass. It’s not a very long hike .

I climbed it when I was a young idiot. I don't recommend the tictoc generation try this. You didn't grow up playing outside. Just stick to your screens.

It was worth to walk on the trail going to the rock called #SugarLoaf. I think I need to come in spring to see the butterflies’ species shown on the information board. It was a bit cold to stay long. #Winona #Minnesota #travel #photography

You can do this hike walking from the train station forth and back in two hours if weather permits. Don’t follow Google maps detour to cross the highway since there is now a roundabout with pedestrian crossings. It will save you 30 minutes. Watch where you put your feet in the autumn since leaves cover slippery stones. This is even more important when going downhill. It’s not wheelchair accessible and one has to stay on the trail due to steep slopes. Finally if you need a picnic there is a Walmart, Subway and Target nearby just before crossing the highway. View is splendid and totally worth it. I heard and saw half a dozen birds which were sitting on branches nearby. No toilets and antique store at the foot of the hill was closed so for restrooms you will have to go the stores mentioned above. Highly recommended and with the museum of Minnesota maritime art it makes a great outing from St Paul with Amtrak. You will remember this day out a long time!

Went up the front face and it was fun and thankfully dry. Lots of fun and great views ahead
