A still little-known place. A roughly 2.5km trail/loop leads close to these colorful formations.

Great stop early this morning. Interesting formations and nice stripes in the rocks. Part of the trail is “developed gravel“, there’s a series of steps and then you wind your way through the Badlands. The trail is pretty distinct all the way through. Lots of parking, no restrooms, but about five minutes north of the park is a rest area with some. Definitely would not want to do this much after sunrise or much before sunset, because it is totally open and you would just be in the blazing sun. Even then, I would be sure to wear sunscreen and a hat and bring some water! Definitely worth the stop.
