2025.03 Tue/Yakusugi Land Yakuzaru (C course) (Travel in southern Kyushu) [Time required] 50 minutes [Cost] 3,000 yen/person (cash only) [Impressions] Arrive in about 50 minutes by bus from Awa Port. At the entrance, pay 500 yen under the name of ``Forest Environmental Improvement Promotion Cooperation Fund''. Perhaps because of the high altitude and the occasional rain, we followed the guide's suggestion and headed for the 30-minute Fureai no Michi course. There are quite a few ups and downs, and it's a wooden path, so be careful of your step as you walk. Along the way, we crossed rivers, saw waterfalls, and felt the warmth of the forest in the midst of nature. [Previous destination] Awa Port High-speed boat terminal [Next stop] Kigensugi on the Yakuzaru train

Yakusugi Land is a natural forest park located, featuring ancient Yakusugi cedar trees, many over 1,000 years old. What I liked was the range of hiking trails—from easy 30-minute walks to longer 3-hour treks. The trails are well-maintained and wind through lush, mossy forests filled with old-growth cedars, fallen logs, and diverse plant life. Two buses travel to the park entrance, starting at Gochomae stop 62.
