A wonderful and unforgettable evening at Yeraz Park, the Grape Blessing Festival
Today, we came to Yeraz Park at around 5 pm to attend the “Grape Blessing” festival; but what we experienced was far beyond what we expected.
From the moment we entered the park, the atmosphere of the festival was completely different. Everywhere was full of energy, music, colors, traditional clothes, and people who were participating in the festival with all their hearts. Really, no matter how much I want to say about the joy and energy of the Armenian people, I have still not said enough.
The programs were very beautiful and diverse. From ceremonies and performances related to the planting and harvesting of wheat and the different stages of traditional work and life of the people, to local music, singing, and dancing that completely changed the atmosphere of the park.
What was very interesting to me was that this festival was not just a program to watch; it was as if the people were really living their own culture and traditions, and we entered a part of the same Armenian life and culture for a few hours.
The dancing and singing were amazing. The energy of the people was so high that you could unconsciously follow the rhythm of the program. The smiles, joy, clapping, dancing and excitement of the people were flowing throughout the entire time, creating a very warm and intimate atmosphere.
And at the end, there was a traditional dress and fashion show, which was a truly beautiful end to the evening. The clothes, music, light and performance together created a special atmosphere.
We were there from about 5 pm to about 10 pm and saw almost all parts of the ceremony. Five hours passed, but we didn’t feel like much time had passed at all. It was one of those programs that, when it ends, you wish it could continue.
What stayed in our minds the most was not just the ceremony itself, but the good mood of the people. Their happiness was genuine, energetic and contagious; in a way that this good feeling was transmitted to us as well. For a few hours, we truly separated ourselves from the everyday atmosphere and just enjoyed the music, the culture, the people and the moment.
This evening was not just a simple pastime for us, it became one of the best memories of our trip to Armenia.
If I were to say it in one sentence:
No matter how much I say about the beauty, energy, joy of the people and the atmosphere of this celebration, I still have not said enough. A completely different evening, full of energy and full of good memories that will surely stay in our minds for a long time.
For us, it was an experience that started with a smile and with a lot of energy and a lot of sweet memories at the end of the night, we made our way back.
Yeraz Park and the Grape Blessing Festival are really worth experiencing.
