Parked at the loop trail head a couple miles outside Thurmond. Dirt/gravel level lot, with a single very clean and well maintained vault toilet. This is an old railroad bed, so fairly level with 5 trestles, #2 is closed for structural issues, there is a bypass connector trail. I chose to turn back as there was a lot of debris on the trail from recent storms. This is a beautiful trail all the same and well worth the effort. I had no Verizon 4G LTE Roaming service on this trail.

Basically a flat trail to the connector which becomes a challenge. There are some stairs up and over some rocks. Lots of shade. Use to be an old train track system.
