At SWB Motorsport’s new Dunchurch venue you can take control of three of the fleet’s most formidable vehicles: the Alvis CVR(T) Spartan tank, a Leyland DAF 45/150 troop carrier and a Snatch Land Rover. The experience is an intense, hands‑on off‑road session that compresses high‑torque driving, instructor-led tuition and an off‑road course into roughly 90 minutes.

The Alvis CVR(T) Spartan — the ’sports tank’
The Spartan is treated as the fleet’s performance vehicle: an aluminium APC powered by a 4.2‑litre, six‑cylinder petrol engine (derived from the Jaguar E‑Type) that produces over 200 hp and can exceed 50 mph, with a semi‑automatic gearbox and fingertip steering that reward precise inputs.
Leyland DAF 45/150 — all‑terrain truck workhorse
The Leyland DAF 45/150 is a more than six‑tonne diesel troop carrier fitted with army seating for passengers; its clutch and power steering are deliberately simple so drivers can put its special tyres and heavy‑duty drivetrain through challenging off‑road sections under instructor supervision.
Snatch Land Rover — protected, nimble and V8‑powered
The Snatch is a protected patrol vehicle on an upgraded Defender 110 chassis that offers excellent off‑road capability; it is powered by a 3.5‑litre V8 and is the venue’s current third drive following a recent change from the fire engine offering.

You’ll move from briefing to brief practice runs and then into sustained drives across the off‑road course, rotating through three vehicles so you can feel the distinct handling, power delivery and controls of each. Instruction is hands‑on and vehicle‑specific, and the pace is concentrated to deliver three substantive drives within the approximate 90‑minute session.
