Riding the Sand to South Coyote Buttes: An ATV Passage to Pawhole and Ice Cream Rock.
South Coyote Buttes unfolds like an intimate chapter of the desert: narrow washes, sculpted sandstone pinnacles and isolated alcoves reached by a guided ATV ride from Kanab and short hikes to landmarks such as Pawhole, Gumdrop Rock, the Control Tower, Ice Cream Rock and Cottonwood Cove. Located near the Wave, this outing pairs off‑road travel with on-foot exploration—note that a BLM permit is required before you can be taken on the hike.
