It’s aimed at kids and adults who have completed beginner instruction or who can comfortably ride behind a boat, and it’s set up to let you perfect the course or attempt your first ramps and rails.

Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Outing

What is a cable park?

A cable park uses an overhead cable system with ropes hanging down to pull riders along a course, allowing kneeboarding, waterskiing and wakeboarding without a boat.

Do I need prior experience before visiting?

No experience is required; there are cable sessions for every level. First-timers should check Weekend Group Lessons; beginners can also try the Weekend Slow Ride at 17 mph.

What equipment do I need?

Ski Rixen provides helmets, U.S. Coast Guard–approved jackets, kneeboards, skis, wakeboards and wetsuits; you may also bring your own gear but life jackets must be USCG approved and boards may not have metal fins.

How long is a typical session?

The majority of riders choose the two-hour sessions. Other options offered include one-hour sunset, four-hour and all-day sessions.

Are there age, weight, or height restrictions?

There are no height or weight restrictions. Weekend Group Lessons accept ages 7 and up; Weekend Slow Ride accepts ages 10 and up; Full Speed sessions are for ages 12 and up. Riders who have completed lessons or camps may be approved for faster speeds.

Do I need to sign a waiver before riding?

Yes. All riders are required to sign a waiver before riding; waivers can be completed online ahead of time and remain valid for one year.
