I wouldn’t call this a destination location . To me it’s not small enough to be considered a pond but not big enough to be considered a lake. I wouldn’t seek it out for any real adventure. It is on BLM land and it’s not exactly the cleanest . Signs do say it has been known to have algae. So my advice is if you smell the guck it’s a yuck . The bathrooms were pretty gross

Really calm lake and quiet. Water feels great and appears cold, which is fed from the falls up above. Paddleboard are the way to go and appears the fishing is great (saw several jumping and folks fishing. Rocky bottom to the lake and flip flops are helpful. You can access a few sides but the parking lot had plenty of room on the east side.

Visited on 9/9/2023 and absolutely beautiful! The lake is full currently and you are not able to complete the entire loop around the lake without turning around about 3/4 through due to flooding—just in case this helps anyone!

Kens Lake is about 8 miles south of Moab Utah. If you're looking for inexpensive camping on a beautiful lake this should be on your list. We visited the lake yesterday. Two waterfalls are flowing and you can get a closer look with a short hike. This is a wonderful area for all kinds of outdoor recreation. I decided to drive up "Steel Bender Jeep Trail". You will see trucks, Jeeps and other vehicles on this trail. If you don't have a heavy-duty suspension and larger tires I don't recommend it. Great swimming and fishing lake. Pet friendly and this is all BLM land. #theroadlesstraveled #moabutah
