Stop to see the elk. The village is neat. The trail is easy. Just a stroll by the river. Out and back.

GPS coordinates are wrong. Trail actually starts at the Visitors Center down the road. Parking and restroom located there too. This is one of two trails that allow dogs in the Great Smokey Mountains. Dogs must go on the trail to the right. Trail is relatively flat and winds along the river. Easy to navigate and about 80% shaded to keep you cool. There's also a chance to see some Elk in the fields if you're lucky. About the halfway mark there is a bridge with a watering hole on the left side. Excellent place to take a dip, swim around, and cool your feet off. Overall, an easy trail yet packed with some variety of things to see. Definitely give it a try.
