THE BACKYARD stitches two classic Norwegian vantage points into a single day: a guided inflatable-canoe or small-raft descent of the Raundal River followed by a mountain-bike tour through Voss’s forested singletrack and adventure trails. The package lasts six hours and is adaptable to all skill levels, with professional guides, gear, instruction and transport included.

Outing Highlights

THE RIVER

Raundal River Canoe — calm stretches and technical practice

The morning paddle includes safety instruction, a warm-up and practice at a river pool, then roughly 1 hour 30 minutes on the water in inflatable canoes or small rafts—an accessible way to read moving water and learn basic river skills.

THE TRAILS

Mountain biking through Voss’s varied trail network

Afternoon rides take you out of town onto a mix of forest, mountain singletrack and adventure trails; guides perform bike checks and route adjustments so the day can be shaped to fitness and ability levels.

THE SUPPORT

Guides, gear and logistics handled for you

The operator outfits you with equipment, runs shuttles to the river and provides instruction throughout—ideal for groups who want a full-day, low-fuss outdoor experience.

What the day feels like

How the day flows

You begin at the Outdoor Norway base for check‑in and gearing up, shuttle to a river access point for safety instruction and practice, then a 1 hour 30 minute river trip. After returning to base and a brief turnaround, the guides fit bikes and lead a networked ride out of town on forest and mountain trails, finishing back at the base where you return gear and tidy the bikes.
