Save the Groom: A 90‑Minute, City‑Wide Detective Race Through Dundalk

Set along the busy streets of Dundalk on Magnet Road, Team Activities offers a one-of-a-kind outdoor adventure with their city-wide interactive detective game, CSI Save the Groom. Unlike traditional hikes or paddles, this experience invites groups to sprint through urban terrain armed only with their smartphones, solving riddles, decoding messages, and hunting down suspects in a race against the clock. For about 90 minutes, players inhabit the thrilling role of digital detectives tasked with saving the groom before the wedding — a narrative that packs tension and teamwork into every puzzle solved.

Dundalk, the largest town in County Louth, sits on the eastern coast of Ireland and blends coastal charm with urban energy. This detective adventure carves out a unique space within the local outdoor recreation scene, emphasizing mental agility and fast-paced problem-solving in an open-air city setting. Participants weave through Dundalk’s streets and key landmarks, experiencing a playful yet challenging city game that stands apart from conventional wilderness excursions.

Team Activities, a Dublin-based operator, specializes in creative group adventures like this, making them a notable contributor to Ireland’s outdoor team-building offerings. CSI Save the Groom is especially popular for hen and stag parties, where high energy and friendly competition take center stage.

What makes this trip compelling is its clever use of technology and city layout, encouraging participants to engage with familiar urban spaces in new ways. The game’s smartphone-driven format blends the spontaneity of a scavenger hunt with the intellectual draw of a crime thriller, all set in the dynamic streetscape of Dundalk — a perfect spot to reconnect with friends through fast thinking and sharp collaboration.
