All fishing gear and bait are provided. If you are 16 or older you must bring a sport-fishing license (print a copy to bring; do not bring a gift voucher). Snacks and beverages are welcome; alcoholic beverages are allowed.
Dress in layers—mornings on the bay can be cold but it may warm up. Rubber boots are recommended if you have them; avoid flip-flops and open-toed shoes.
Docking is at S Dock Slip 5 in Santa Cruz Harbor; put Johnny’s Harbor Side Restaurant into your maps app to find the dock. Park at a meter, not a slip renter spot, and buy the $13 day pass at the kiosk or tackle shop (cash only). Arrive 15 minutes early and wait at the top of the dock for boarding instructions—the crew will provide keys as needed.
Trip pricing is per person unless noted and the operator advises that gratuity (around 20–25%) is not included in the trip price.

What should I wear?

What if I or someone in my party gets seasick?
The crew does its best to ensure comfort, but if someone becomes ill you will generally have to continue the trip—operators are usually unable to return early to dock. Bonine and Dramamine are encouraged for those prone to seasickness.
Can I bring alcohol on board?
Yes—alcoholic beverages are allowed; feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages.
