Highlights
Outing Highlights
Wild trout on the line
Catching a wild trout from the Provo River is presented as a lifelong memory—the river produces Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Mountain Whitefish—and guides treat that first tight bend in the line as the highlight of the day.
Lower and Middle Provo: big‑mountain setting
You can fish the Lower Provo at the base of 11,000‑foot Mt. Timpanogos or the meandering bends of the Middle Provo in Heber Valley; the Provo is noted for an extremely high number of fish per mile, offering consistent action.
Forgiving for beginners, worthy of experts
The river and the guided format are described as well suited and forgiving for first‑time anglers while also providing challenges and rewards for experienced fly fishers.
What the day feels like
What four hours on the Provo actually feels like
You meet at the guide base, get fitted and geared up, and then head a short 5–15 minute drive to the chosen stretch of the Provo. The morning or afternoon is spent walk‑and‑wading under the guide’s instruction—casting, reading water and pursuing wild trout—while taking in the valley and mountain vistas; photos and memories are encouraged.

Details to review before reserving
Summer: wear socks and something comfortable under waders (shorts are fine), bring polarized sunglasses, a camera and a hat. Winter: wear socks and an insulated base layer (waders are not insulated), consider gloves and a beanie; dress like you would for skiing but swap ski pants for waders. Polarized sunglasses and a hat are recommended year‑round.
All gear is included for the trip, but note that waders are not insulated—plan your base layers accordingly in colder months.

No because you booked a walk and wade trip. We can float upon request. but fair warning, Ryan will probably try to talk you out of it. (He has a point though)

What is the minimum age?
We usually say around 7 or 8. younger kids usually don't last the entire time but ALWAYS have a blast. Most of our guides are fathers and mothers so they get it and want it to be fun!

Industry standard is 20–25%; guides commonly receive $50–100 for a half‑day trip, but there is no limit.
