Highlights

Outing Highlights

THE BOAT

Crystal-clear kayaks put the river in plain sight

Tours are conducted in clear-bottom, clear-sided tandem kayaks that give you direct visibility into the spring-fed water beneath—designed to maximize viewing and photo opportunities.

THE PRIVACY

Small private groups, tailored pacing

Private bookings are limited to groups of 1–10 paddlers, keeping the experience intimate and allowing guides to customize the trip to your interests.

THE GUIDES

Local guides who shape the experience

Guides are personable and knowledgeable, tailoring narration and route choices for your group; kayaks are tandem and the guide can paddle with an odd-numbered party if needed.

What the day feels like

What the hour on the water feels like

The outing moves deliberately: check in, meet your guide, launch onto the river in tandem clear kayaks and paddle downstream, taking in spring-fed clarity and riverine wildlife before turning to paddle back upstream. Cameras and quiet observation pay dividends—this is a close-quarters nature ride rather than a high-speed excursion.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this private clear-kayak tour suits—and who should take caution.

1
Active CouplesIdeal for couples who want a short, scenic paddle with excellent photo opportunities in a private setting.
2
Small Groups & FamiliesWorks well for small family groups or friend groups (up to 10). Kayaks are tandem; odd-numbered parties can be accommodated by reconfiguring seats or having a guide paddle with the group.
3
Wildlife Watchers & PhotographersA strong match for nature observers who want close encounters with beavers, birds and river life and the chance to view Texas Wild Rice from above.
4
Guests with Weight ConcernsNot ideal for anyone over the strict manufacturer-set weight limits—250 pounds per person and a maximum of 425 pounds per kayak—because these limits are enforced for safety.

Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Outing

What is the cancellation policy?

All sales are final unless specified otherwise. In unsafe weather you can reschedule, receive a gift card, or get a full refund. If you purchase Trip Protection you may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the tour for any reason and be reimbursed for the ticket amount minus the cost of Trip Protection and booking fees.

Is there a weight limit for the kayaks?

Yes. The strict limit is 250 pounds per person and a maximum of 425 pounds per kayak, set by the manufacturer.

Are the kayaks tandem or single?

All kayaks are tandem by design; seats are removable so an odd-numbered party can be accommodated as a single, but the 250-pound per person limit still applies.

Is it appropriate to tip the guide?

Yes—tips are greatly appreciated. Standard U.S. gratuity is about 20%. A mandatory 20% gratuity is added for groups of 11 or more.

Is alcohol allowed on the tour?

No. Alcohol is not allowed on any tours.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes—pets are allowed. Bring a towel for your pet to sit on to avoid scratching the kayak.

Can I swim while I'm there?

Yes. Guests are invited to swim before or after the tour near the launch; typical water depth in that area is around 4–5 feet though it can vary.
