What is the cancellation policy?
All sales are final unless otherwise specified. In unsafe weather the operator will offer rescheduling, a gift card, or a full refund. Purchasing Trip Protection allows guests to cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours prior for any reason and receive reimbursement for the ticket amount less trip protection and booking fees.
Is there a weight limit for the kayaks?
Yes. The strict manufacturer limits are no more than 250 pounds per person and no more than 425 pounds per two people in the same kayak.
Are the kayaks tandem or single?
All kayaks are tandem (double) by design. Seats are removable to accommodate an odd number of paddlers, but the 250-pound per person limit still applies even when used as a single.
Is gratuity expected for guides?
Tips are greatly appreciated; a standard U.S. gratuity guideline is about 20%. For groups of 11 or more, a mandatory 20% gratuity will be added.
Is alcohol allowed on the tours?
No. Alcohol is not allowed on any tours.
How is pricing structured—per kayak or per person?
Pricing is per person for the tour; the operator does not charge a single kayak fee or rent the kayaks separately.
How far in advance should I book and can I cancel?
It’s recommended to book as far in advance as possible. The operator allows full refunds up until 72 hours prior to the tour time for cancellations.
Can I swim or bring my pet?
Yes. Guests are invited to swim before or after the tour near the launch; the operator welcomes pets—bring a towel for your pet to sit on to protect the kayak surface.
Is parking available at the meeting spot?
Yes. Parking is available at the lot used by the operator, but it is managed by a third party and for non-San Marcos residents requires payment. Arrive 15–30 minutes early to park, pay via app or kiosk, and meet your guides.
