How long is the morning group lesson and what does it cost?
The standard fall/winter morning group trail lesson runs 1.5 hours and is priced at $125 per rider (ages 5+). There are also 1‑hour holiday lesson variants offered at the same $125 rate on specified holiday dates.
When should I arrive and where do we meet?
Participants are asked to arrive 30 minutes early for check‑in and orientation in the Covered Rodeo Arena at Lone Star Ranch; the ranch is a short 10–15 minute drive southeast from downtown Austin.
What is the operator’s cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance are eligible for a 75% refund (25% non‑refundable). Cancellations inside that 72‑hour window are not eligible for refund; rescheduling also requires 72‑hour notice. If sick, contact the operator to arrange a reschedule more than two weeks out.
What are the age and weight restrictions?
All riders must be at least 5 years old; minors must be accompanied by a family member aged 18 or older on the ride. The weight limit for riders is 250 lbs; alternative activities may be available for guests who exceed that limit.
Are helmets provided and what should I wear?
Helmets are required for all riders and are provided by the ranch. Wear pants or leggings and closed‑toed shoes; gloves are recommended in winter and sunscreen in summer.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The ranch rides rain or shine and will provide rain slickers when needed; if conditions are deemed too dangerous to ride, the operator will issue a rain check, reschedule, or offer a Rainy Day Rodeo Ride in the covered arena.
Can I bring pets or smoke on the property?
No—visitors’ pets are not allowed on the ranch and smoking is prohibited on the property.
