Coasteering along Agaete’s volcanic coast is a concentrated loop of ocean and rock: guided hiking across rugged headlands, rope-work abseils into sea‑scarred gullies, a horizontal via ferrata perched above surf and a 35‑meter zipline that flies you to the next promontory. The route combines mountaineering techniques and seaside exposure, with optional ocean jumps for those who want an extra surge of adrenaline.

THE LANDSCAPE

Volcanic cliffs carved by the sea

The route follows the wild volcanic shoreline of Gran Canaria, where waves and lava have carved dramatic cliffs and coastal passages seen on the hike and via ferrata sections.

THE ROUTE

Technical moves: abseils, via ferrata and a sea zipline

Expect practical mountaineering elements: guided abseiling with an extra safety belay, a horizontal via ferrata traverse above the water and a 35‑meter ocean zipline that connects cliff to cliff.

THE ADRENALINE

Optional sea jumps and a winter dry variant

If you choose, the route includes optional jumps into the sea for an added adrenaline hit; in the November–March winter version the itinerary can be completed without touching the water.

What the day feels like

After a short meeting and safety presentation you’ll receive harness, helmet and gloves and, if desired, a wetsuit bag. The group sets off on a hike that opens onto wide coastal views, then moves into taught instruction and hands‑on ropework for abseils. The route continues with a horizontal via ferrata above the surf, then a 35‑meter zipline across the ocean; adrenaline‑seeking participants can add sea jumps before a final climb and hike back to the start.
